Apple Blossom Time - Finally!

It's May 26 and finally we see them (barely through the clouds of horrid black flies). They were like this a month earlier last year.

Poisonous Broad-leaved Dock & the Rock

There are so many varieties of plants (and insects) that have come alive in spite of the mostly cloudy, cool spring season this year. This dock is a relative of the rhubarb. The rock is one of the smaller boulders on the property - we have one that is larger than a good sized camper trailer!

Red Maple & Pine

Here's a young Red Maple with its brand new leaves thrusting skyward amongst a stand of pines.

Daring whatever moved to do it again!

Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to see and smell the world through her senses?

Some Think They're a Nuisance!

Some think the dandelion too common to consider as beautiful. I don't. Our lawns are literally aglow with these stunners. They don't look a bit like a weed to me.

Waiting for Spring Flowers too!

Spring is taking its time this year... except for the pesky black flies and dandelions, of course. Miss "S" surveys HER territory on her daily walkabouts, only occasionally forgetting there could be a coyote or fox lurking in the shadows. Hers is a one-track mind - "if it moves, or even hints it might move, I will follow" is her modus operandi.

Olympian!

Here's Miss "S" in mid-flight over our creek. We have plans to build a small bridge over this waterway since it has water in it all year round but until then clomping through it in rubber boots is the best we can do - except to take to the air like she does!

Early Spring Rabbit

This furry fellow or gal joined us on an evening walk.
